Hello Hoosiers and special guests, it’s Jordan and all week I will be giving you the highlights of all 91 events going on during the Best. Week. Ever. So make sure to check my blog every morning for the lowdown on what is happening that day.
The Western Library Pre-Parade Playtime from 7:30-9:30a.m. is a great way to start the morning with your family for the Best. Week. Ever! So roll out of bed, get your kids ready and head over to the Western Branch Public Library. Trust me you don’t want to miss out on all the family fun with chalk, bubbles, and boxes for building. And while you are there enjoy the 94th Annual West Side Memorial Day Parade from 8:15-10:30a.m. (Along Ford St.). This parade isn’t just a fun family event, but one that honors the spectacular men and women who have served our country. Remember we will be there with our memorable Best. Week. Ever merchandise, such as tees and posters. So stop by and say HI!
Along with the parade Oliver Inn is providing you with the Best Breakfast Ever from 8-9:30a.m. So grab yourself a gourmet breakfast, 2 pastries, fresh fruit, coffee, tea, or juice for the mere price of $12 per person. Enjoy this delicious meal with the serene and historical environment of the Oliver Inn. You deserve it, this is relaxation at its finest.
Your best morning ever does not end there. Just head on over to the Best Neighbors Ever from 11a.m.-1p.m. I know sometimes it is hard to love your neighbors, but not today, because you and your family will be too busy playing with the inflatables and carnivalesque activities at the Monroe Circle Community Center. You also might be too busy eating all the free food this event is providing, like hot dogs, brats, chips, popcorn, cotton candy etc. Good times for all!
The fun continues at Four Winds Field for the South Bend Cubs game. First pitch is at 2:05p.m. and military personnel get in free! Go USA! “So take me out to the ballgame,” and meet Stu their friendly mascot. Tickets for the game can be purchased here or at the ticket office.
Start your night on a good note and enjoy the live musical performances from local and original artists: The Rutabega and Infinite Buffalo. As well as performances by bands from surrounding areas: Mint Mile from Chicago and OUT from Kalamazoo. The Seitz Summer Starter is from 5-9 p.m. at Seitz park. However, in the case of inclement weather, this event will be moved to The General Deli & Cafe. Also, stop by and say HI to the Best. Week. Ever staff who will be selling our signature tees and posters.
Or end your night with some enchanting fun at the Best. Pottery. Event. Ever: Paint the Stars.
