Finish out the Best. Week. Ever strong and explore all the events happening today. It is the last day to enjoy all are fun activities, so gather up your friends, family, and significant others and head on out.
Start off your morning right and Play your Best Round Ever at either Elbel or Erskine Golf Courses. This event is going on from 7:30a.m.-8p.m. so you will have plenty of time to try out you golfing skills. You can even utilize their giant cups on the green, which is perfect for everyone, from beginning to advanced.
Or begin your day with a little volunteering and make your way to St. Patrick’s County Park for River Clean-Up from 8:30a.m.-12p.m. There you can do your part part to clean up the beautiful St. Joseph River, while paddling out in kayaks. This event is not just helpful, but fun for all ages. I encourage you to bring your own gloves and dress accordingly.
Explore the city like you have never done before during the Open to South Bend event from 12-5p.m. Lots of local museums and historic sites will open their doors today, many offering free admission, freebies, and tours! Visit all the locations and see everything that our beautiful city has to offer. For the full list of business participating click here.
I tend to go to the beat of my own drum, but this event is one I don’t want to miss, and neither should you. The Best Drum Circle Ever at Potawatomi Conservatories takes place from 12:30-1:30p.m. It costs $5 for Conservatory members and $8 for non-members. I hope to see you all out there!
Also, swing on over to the East Race for some white water rafting from 1-5p.m. where you can experience the rush of the second ever man made waterway for only $5. So be prepared to get wet and have a blast doing it!
You can also experience wonderful power and serenity during the Interfaith Prayer Service at Howard Park from 5-6:30p.m. This event is open to all and worth going to.
Become one with nature and explore the Best Night at the Park Ever which takes place at Rum Village Nature Center from 6-10p.m. There you can enjoy a Screening of “Everglades of the North: The Story of the Grand Kankakee Marsh”, an evening/twilight hike in the Rum Village woods, and a campfire. So make sure to bring your own blankets, chairs, s’mores, hot dogs and whatever else you might need and stop by the Best. Week. Ever tent to check out our awesome prizes and signature merchandise.
Be the coolest cat around and swing, shake, or dance your way to the Best. 50's Sock Hop. Ever. at the Studebaker Museum from 7-10p.m. So freshen up your poodle skirts and practice your Twist, Limbo, Hand Five, Mashed Potato, and Stroll dances. There will also be hula hoop, bubblegum blowing, name that tune, and karaoke contests! Food will be on hand, including pizza, hot dogs, hamburgers, fries, and milkshakes so come hungry. Tickets are $15 per person and this is a 21 and over event. The Best. Week. Ever staff, myself included will be there, so come on out and say HI!
The Best Home Run Derby Finals Ever are here and take place at Byers Softball Complex from 8-9p.m. The best players from the week will compete for the coveted wooden baseball bat and title of champion. So come on out and root for your favorite! This event is welcome to all and is sure to be entertaining.
